A sign posted at the George Mason University School of Law by the school's St. Thomas More Society invites students to listen to a noted priest and discuss "(over a couple of beers) the present war in Iraq and the meaning of Lent."

Lent certainly isn't what it used to be.

As Kevin Michael Grace has announced, we will soon begin a discussion of Evelyn Waugh’s Sword of Honour trilogy on our blogs. We hope to make such colloquy a regular feature. I’m very much looking forward to it. One of my hopes when I started this site was that it might lead me to engaging conversation on culture, something for which the medium has great potential.
