Sydney Presbytery is the regional council of the Uniting Church (Synod of NSW & ACT), spanning from Bondi to Homebush, Sydney Harbour to the Cooks River.

The purpose of a Presbytery within the Uniting Church is to exercise a ministry of oversight for the life and mission of the Church in a particular region.

In Sydney Presbytery we understand our purpose through our Mission Statement – Leading the Church to Life. We pursue our purpose by exercising oversight of Congregations, Faith Communities and Parish Missions within our Presbytery through Empowerment, Encouragement and Exhortation, as guided by the Uniting Church’s 5816060774. We exist to ensure that the Uniting Church’s presence throughout Sydney’s eastern suburbs, inner city and inner west is effective, growing and well-resourced. Our strength is in our local groupings who serve their communities with many different ministries of care and compassion.
